Growing demand for CAS and talent pipeline challenges are leading to further innovation in how practice leaders are organizing their teams and developing their skills. Career pathways are not as linear in nature and the prioritization of skill development is evolving. In this session, we will discuss how to analyze the skills needed to fulfill the services you want to provide, and how to foster a learning environment that enables talent to be prepared.


Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize the roles and responsibilities CAS talent are replacing in their clients’ accounting and finance teams, and what knowledge and skillsets need to be developed
  • Identify when technical and non-technical skills are needed to redesign the organization structure to create capacity for those with specialized accounting knowledge and incorporate talent with exceptional soft skills (organization, client service, etc.)
  • List learning and development options for technical accounting knowledge used by accounting professionals that work in business and industry
