GAE2620. Opportunities and Challenges in Government Accountability

Learn about key developments impacting government, society, and the accountability community. The Acting Comptroller General will review major challenges faced by the nation and how the audit and accountability community are responding. Topics will include the federal government’s unsustainable long-term fiscal path; artificial intelligence; auditing and internal control standards; and oversight of emerging cyber, science and technology areas.


Learning Objectives:

  • Identify and assess key national challenges affecting government accountability, including the federal government's long-term fiscal outlook, artificial intelligence, and emerging cyber, science, and technology risks.
  • Identify the role of auditors, accountability professionals, and oversight organizations in responding to evolving risks through auditing standards, internal control frameworks, and governance practices.
