Concurrent Session Online
NOT2345. Subrecipient, Contractor, Beneficiary… What Am I? (ONLINE ONLY)
Many nonprofit entities receive federal funding indirectly through pass-through entities, and at times, it is difficult to determine whether the recipient is a subrecipient, contractor, or beneficiary. The correct designation determines whether or not a single audit is required, as well as other reporting requirements. This session will cover the definitions of these three designations, related compliance requirements, and best practices to correctly identify and report them.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify common characteristics of the three potential types of recipients: subrecipients, contractors, and beneficiaries
- Determine the implications the recipient classification may have on the reporting and compliance requirements
