There's a whole world of tax-exempt organizations that are non-charitable in purpose. This session will look at common non-charitable organization types, including social welfare organizations, business associations, social clubs, and 527 political organizations. We will explore their benefits, drawbacks and special reporting requirements.
Learning Objectives:
- Distinguish between 501(c)(3) and non-(c)(3) exempt entities.
- Identify the special reporting requirements for certain entities like Section 501(c)(4), 501(c)(6), and 527.
- Determine the issues involved when non-charitable entities are related to or deal with Section 501(c)(3) entities.
