Founder’s Syndrome occurs when founders, longtime leaders, or even board members become resistant to change in their organization. As a result, the organization can become stagnant and ineffective, support dwindles, and quality employees become frustrated and leave. As organizations grow, the leadership qualities they once needed may no longer work. Maturity requires different, visionary approaches. This informative session will highlight real-life examples of this problem, how it adversely impacts organizations, and proactive steps a nonprofit can take to deal with this important issue.
