NOT2450. Tax and Technology – Beauty and the Beast (ONLINE ONLY)

This interactive free-for-all session will provide participants with perspectives from different sized firms about how to cope with the technological challenges of 990 series preparation, e-filing, pay.gov filings, state portals for charitable and UBI filings, and other similar topics. Rather than focusing on or endorsing specific software, we will discuss what works in our respective practices, what doesn’t, and what we haven’t figured out yet. Bring your questions as audience participation is encouraged!

Learning Objectives:

• Analyze how other practitioners are approaching common tax compliance issues and the role of technology in their processes.
• Identify “the good, the bad, and the ugly” of dealing with stand-alone governmental platforms like pay.gov and state portals.
• Compare war stories of successes and failures in these areas and ask questions so all of us can learn from them.
