NOT2451. “Me Want Cookie” - Balancing the User Website Experience and Data Privacy (ONLINE ONLY)

Everyone loves a good cookie unless it is collecting your information. Website tracking technologies caught the attention of users, regulators, and activists. They help website owners and marketers gather insights into how users navigate their site, what content they engage with, and how they interact with various elements. But tracking technologies like cookies, pixels, fingerprinting, session recording, among others, can violate privacy laws and regulations. In this session, we will explore ways that non-profit organizations can comply with relevant website and mobile app laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize how website and mobile app tracking technology continues to evolve.
  • Identify the basic requirements of privacy laws related to managing user consent for use of tracking technologies.
