NOT24SS01. Effective Onboarding and Communication of Key Financial Information for Boards, presented by YPTC

How are you educating your Board members and ensuring an effective onboarding process? Join us to learn how the finance team can support the onboarding and retention of successful board members, especially those who do not have experience using financial statements. We’ll also examine tools to help prepare and manage board communications, including financial reporting designed to help Board members make good decisions and understand the financial picture. Using case studies, we’ll also illustrate ways to effectively convey a financial message to engage the Board more meaningfully.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss ways to assess the Board’s financial management knowledge and provide examples of educating and successfully onboarding new Board members.
  • Examine ways to use technology to prepare and manage board communications, responsibilities, and deadlines during the year for risk management.
  • Identify the financial message that needs to be conveyed to provide useful information for Board members to make good decisions and understand the financial picture. Determine the best method to illustrate that message through case studies.
