OIL2022. 2020 Election Update and 2021 Preview of U.S. Tax Policy and Geopolitical Impact

This session will address the outcome of the 2020 presidential and congressional elections and how that may impact policy developments in Washington and beyond. Participants will gain the knowledge needed to anticipate possible future tax changes and consider what actions they can take now to begin planning for them.


Learning Objectives:

  • Review key business and international tax proposals from Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and details of President Trump’s second-term tax agenda
  • Consider how the outcome of the November elections and the fiscal health of the U.S. economy may shape U.S. tax policy in 2021 and beyond
  • Identify what tax policy changes affecting the oil & gas industry may be anticipated next year
  • Evaluate methods of political analysis and understand which geopolitical issues are relevant along with analysis of possible outcomes
