WAS2407. Intentional Leadership: Addressing Bias as an Inclusive Leader
Great leaders are intentional in managing themselves and others. Unconscious biases are social stereotypes about certain groups of people that individuals form outside their conscious awareness. Everyone has unconscious biases. In this session, you’ll learn the importance of intentional leadership with proven coaching methods and inclusive leadership strategies. Additionally, you’ll learn how to address and respond to bias that you may encounter in the workplace.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify the concept of unconscious bias: Participants will develop a clear understanding of unconscious biases, including the definition, characteristics, and the role they play in shaping attitudes and behaviors towards certain groups of people.
- Recognize personal unconscious biases: Participants will learn strategies to identify and become aware of their own unconscious biases.
- Identify strategies to address and respond to bias in the workplace: Participants will explore various methods and approaches to combat unconscious bias in the workplace. They will learn practical techniques for challenging biases, fostering inclusive environments, and promoting diversity and equality. Participants will gain insights into effective communication strategies to address bias incidents sensitively and constructively, fostering a more inclusive and respectful work environment for all.
