James is a Managing Director in EY's Technical Accounting Advisory Group, a specialty practice within EY's Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) practice, with more than 17 years of experience in accounting and auditing. He also served on a three-year rotation in the firm's national office, where he focused on a variety of technical accounting and auditing issues for energy companies, including the new revenue and leasing standards, changes to the definition of a business, and issues facing publicly traded partnerships, such as changes in the consolidation model.

In his current role, he provides technical accounting support to EY's audit teams and non-audit clients, including for business combinations, consolidation, leasing and other topics. He provides technical accounting insight for due diligence activities and purchase price allocation exercises, and "on call" accounting advisory services primarily to investment banks and law firms. He has also provided technical accounting support to various SPAC, IPO and other public entity projects.

Over time, James has helped to develop and lead internal and external trainings, webcasts, and round tables. He also helped to coordinate and launch the bimonthly internal training webcasts for the FAAS practice across the US. 

James is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in New York, Florida and Oklahoma.
