George Kaufman
George Kaufman is Partner and Head of Investment Banking at Chardan, where he oversees the firm’s banking and SPAC practices. Mr. Kaufman’s expertise spans all sectors, with broad experience in cross border, complex transactions and SPACs. Under Mr. Kaufman’s leadership, Chardan has become one of the most notable underwriters, advisors and sponsors of SPACs, having underwritten 111 transactions raising $14.2 billion. Chardan has also served as advisor to 28 SPAC transactions.
Mr. Kaufman served as Chief Financial & Strategy Officer for Chardan’s 6th sponsored SPAC, Chardan Healthcare Acquisition 2 Corp., a healthcare focused SPAC, from April 2020 until its merger in September 2021 with Renovacor, Inc. (NYSE RCOR). He had the same role at Chardan Healthcare Acquisition Corp. from March 2018 until its merger in October 2019 with BiomX (NYSE: PHGE). He is also a member of the board of directors of Prime Acquisition Corp., a European real estate portfolio and management company.
Prior to joining Chardan in 2004, Mr. Kaufman was Chief Technology Officer at Windsor Capital Advisors, LLC, and an independent advisor to eTrade.
Mr. Kaufman holds a BA in Economics from the University of Vermont and is an active giver to environmental causes.
