Muneera Carr
Muneera Carr is Executive Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer with Wells Fargo & Co since January 2020. Prior to this role, she held the position of Chief Financial Officer with Comerica, Inc., a top 25 bank in the United States with over $70 billion in assets. Muneera, who had been with Comerica for almost ten years, was previously the Chief Accounting Officer from 2010 to 2017. Prior to joining Comerica, Muneera was a Professional Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission from 2007 through 2009. Muneera has performed or led the accounting policy function at major banks such as SunTrust and Bank of America. She also spent nine years as an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers, the last two of which were as a senior manager in their National Office.
Muneera graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelors of Business Administration degree in accounting from University of Texas in 1996. She is a certified public accountant in Texas. Muneera is a former member of the Financial Reporting Executive Committee, a senior technical committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Muneera is also a member of the accounting committee of the American Bankers Association which represents the banking industry on policy issues related to accounting and auditing and Finance Executives International Committee of Corporate Reporting. Muneera serves as a trustee on the Board of Scholarship America. At Wells Fargo, Muneera is the executive sponsor of the Asian Team Member Network. Muneera was selected as one of 25 Most Powerful Women to Watch by American Banker in 2020. She was also a 2016 honoree of the Dallas Business Journal, Women in Business award and a Power 50 honoree of the Texas Diversity Council.
