Spencer represents the private wealth clients of Deloitte globally against the Internal Revenue Service and other taxing authorities. He also works with attorneys, advisors, appraisers, and outside CPAs to consult on their client's tax controversy. Spencer specializes in global-high-wealth (aka IRS Wealth Squad), high-income initiative, and estate & gift tax examinations and/or appeals and typically defends over 100 examinations each year. Absent an active examination, Spencer advises taxpayers on the state of the IRS, and provide pre-audit consultations and 'mock' exams.
