He is currently a National Associate Director in the Division of Registration and Inspections of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). In that position he developed and implemented a program of inspections of registered public accounting firms relative to their quality of assessing the design and testing the operating effectiveness of IT controls and IS audit work. He led and managed the PCAOB's inspection program for Auditing Standard No. 5 - An Audit of Internal Control over Financial Reporting Performed in Conjunction with an Audit of Financial Statements. While his experience covers a broad range of internal controls, his specialty is in the areas of IT governance controls and IT controls including application controls and IT general controls. Prior to joining the PCAOB, he was a partner with BDO Seidman for 9 years. He was responsible for building and developing the firm's IS Audit organization and was the principal driving force to integrate IS audit activities into the financial audit process. Additionally, he was the firm's subject matter expert on internal controls and provided initial direction and guidance in developing the firm's approach to Section 404 attestation engagements. His prior experience included 7 years of IS audit experience with Coopers & Lybrand and over 16 years with IBM as a systems engineer and systems engineering manager. He graduated from Adelphi University with a BA in Mathematics
