Sharjeel Ahsan has been serving employee benefit plan clients for more than 15 years, and currently is a director at McConnell Jones, a Houston based firm that counts itself in the top 3% of all firms performing benefit plan audits. Included in the firm's benefit plan practices are some of the country's largest financial services and tech companies, totaling assets of more than $160 billion. He has planned and supervised audits of numerous employee benefit plans, including defined contribution (401(a), 403(b), 401(k)) plans (including plans requiring Form 11-K filings), defined benefit (traditional pension and cash balance) plans, health and welfare plans with a section 401(h) arrangement, and master trust investment accounts and currently responsible for managing numerous employee benefit plan audits of clients that range from regional non-profit organizations to large Fortune 500 public companies. Mr. Ahsan is responsible for client relationship and overall project performance, including all aspects of managing the fieldwork, supervision of the audit team, review of financial statements and audit work. He has extensive knowledge of accounting and technical reporting standards and has assisted clients with their annual audit and reporting requirements. Mr. Ahsan also leads firm's Form 5500 preparation practice and has helped several clients through DOL & IRS voluntary compliance programs. Mr. Ahsan has also assisted in coordinating and designing certain CPE programs and training of staff and clients. He also remains involved in presentations at the firm sponsored and other training events. In a recently completed client satisfaction survey, Mr. Ahsan and his audit teams earned a 78 Net Promoter Score, which is more than three times the average for CPA firms.
