Iris Laws is a tax manager currently with FORVIS' Tax Professional Standards Group (PSG). In this role, she is responsible for writing FORsights, the firm's award-winning thought leadership program. Iris writes articles, creates firm resources and templates, conducts firm training, performs concurring reviews of complex returns, and keeps up to date with legislation. Prior to her role with PSG, she has worked predominantly on partnership tax returns and transactions. She is a member of the firm's construction and real estate industry practice, and also has experience serving clients in the manufacturing and private equity industries. Within the firm, Iris is the Chair of the High Point, North Carolina IMPACT Committee. This Committee engages FORVIS' people with the broader community, and makes an impact in the areas of health, teams, finance, community, and sustainability. She is also the founder of the Richmond, Virginia Emerging Leaders Network, a community interest group that focuses on educating and empowering early career professionals. Within the North Carolina Association of CPA's, she sits on the Advisory Council, and serves on the Young Professional Cabinet. She is also a part of the Wake Forest Business School Alumni Council. She sits on the growth committee of the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership and is a member of REACH Women's Network—an organization seeking to advance economic development and promote gender equality. Iris graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wake Forest University, and received a Masters of Science in Accountancy from the same institution. She is a CPA in North Carolina and Virginia.
