Steven Jacobs
Steven Jacobs is Americas' Capital Markets Leader and Director of SEC Regulatory Matters in Ernst and Young LLP's Assurance practice based in Washington, DC. He leads a team specializing in matters pertaining to SEC rules and regulations surrounding financial reporting. He is responsible for developing the firm's publications and training materials on various SEC reporting topics as well as providing accounting and financial reporting advice to engagement teams and clients. Steven actively engages in various initiatives on behalf of the profession including currently serving as Chair of the Center for Audit Quality's SEC Regulations Committee and a member of the International Practices Task Force. Aside from his role in National Professional Practice, Steven has served Fortune 500 clients in various industries.
Prior to joining EY, Steven served as an Associate Chief Accountant in the SEC's Division of Corporation Finance where he served as an advisor and consultant to the Division's Chief Accountant, Director, senior managers and Division and Commission staff with respect to accounting and financial reporting matters arising under the SEC rules and regulations.
Steven earned a Bachelors of Science in Management degree from Tulane University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the District of Columbia and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
