Hon. Chris Saunders is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), whose career spans some 20 years in both the public and private sectors.

He has worked in various Government Departments including the Lands and Survey Department, the Treasury Department, Internal Audit and the Office of Auditor General. He also has held senior management positions in the Banking and Telecommunications Sectors.

Minister Saunders is a former Director of the Health Services Authority and a former member of the Immigration Business Staffing Plan Board.

When first elected to Parliament in 2017 as the Member for Bodden Town West, he served as a Member of the Opposition and the Public Accounts Committee.

Following his re-election in 2021, he is now serving as the Deputy Premier, Minister for Finance & Economic Development and Minister for Border Control & Labour.
