Tracy Boak is a Partner with Perlman & Perlman, LLP a New York, NY law firm providing legal counsel and compliance services to organizations and professionals in the philanthropic sector. She leads the firm's litigation practice and provides counsel to the firm's compliance department. Previously, she was the Director of the Pennsylvania Department of State's Bureau of Charitable Organizations where she was responsible for the management of the office that oversees the administration and enforcement of the State's charitable solicitation law. During her eleven year tenure at the Department of State, she also served as the prosecuting attorney for the Bureau, was Counsel for the Office of Human Resource Management and was a prosecuting attorney for the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs. Prior to working for the Commonwealth, Ms. Boak was in private practice in Harrisburg, PA, where she practiced commercial litigation. Ms. Boak is a former President of the National Association of State Charities Officials (NASCO) and served on the NASCO board for six years. She is co-chair to the NYC Bar Association's Nonprofit Organizations Committee and plays an active role in the governance committees of Nonprofit New York and The Nonprofit Alliance. Ms. Boak earned her Juris Doctor, _cum laud_e, from Widener University School Commonwealth Law School and a Bachelor's degree from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. She is admitted to practice in the state and federal district courts in New York and Pennsylvania, as well as the United States Supreme Court.
