Rachel is the Professional Practice Director for Grant Thornton's Public Sector federal audit practice in Washington, D.C., where she has been working with federal agencies for the last six years. She also has 19 years of experience serving on the audits of not-for-profit clients, including cultural institutions, hospitals, associations, universities, charities, foundations, and religious organizations. Rachel's focus has been financial statement audits and single audits of not-for-profit organizations under AICPA and Government Auditing Standards. In particular, she specializes in the auditing of significant investment portfolios and testing compliance and internal controls over compliance as a part of single audits. In her Public Sector Professional Practice Director role, Rachel monitors audit quality, manages risk, and provides technical support to audit and attest teams serving Grant Thornton's federal agency clients. Rachel is a licensed CPA in Illinois and Virginia and is a member of the AICPA and the Virginia Society of CPAs. Rachel received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Summa Cum Laude, from Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania.
