Kim graduated from the University of Missouri - St. Louis with a BS in Accounting and Masters in Tax in 1992. Upon graduation, Kim joined Swink Coplen & Company, P.C. as a staff accountant. In 1996, Kim moved into the role of the firm's first Firm Administrator and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer and equity shareholder in 2019. As the firm's Chief Operating Officer, Kim is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firm. These activities include (but are not limited to) human resources, financial reporting for the firm, managing the administrative team, and strategic planning. On client service engagements, Kim is the Director of Client Accounting Services and serves as a liaison between the Swink team and the client to guarantee a successful engagement. Kim attributes her success to her organizational skills, ability to multi-task on various projects, and her innate ability to connect with people. Over the years, Kim has developed expertise in many different areas of managing a CPA firm. In 2018, Kim joined the Executive team of the Missouri Chapter of CPAFMA and took over the President role in 2019. In 2020, Kim was given the opportunity to join the National Board of the CPAFMA as Director of Professional Awareness, which is a role she still holds. Kim is married and has two children, a daughter in marketing who lives in Jacksonville, Florida and a son who is currently attending flight school to become a commercial pilot. In her limited spare time, Kim enjoys traveling, PLNK classes, and remodeling rooms in her house.
