Alexandria Romero earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting for Colorado State University - Fort Collins and her Master's in Professional Accounting from Colorado State University Global. Alex is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Colorado and a 2019 American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Leadership Academy Graduate. Alex worked in public accounting as a Senior Auditor and Tax Accountant prior to joining the Pueblo City-County Library District, where she was the Chief Financial Officer. Alex was appointed to the Director of Finance position with the City of Pueblo in late 2022. Alex has been recognized with several awards including the 2022 AICPA Outstanding Young CPA Award, 2022 and 2021 CPA Practice Advisor 40 Under 40 Accounting Professionals, and the 2021 Women to Watch Emerging Leader Award by the COCPA. She has served in various leadership roles including the Board of Directors and Young Professional Council Chair for the COCPA, and Chair of the Young Member Leadership Committee and Benevolent Fund Committee member for the AICPA.
