Audit Director
Ellsworth & Stout, LLC.
Melanie Rollo has worked in public accounting since completing her Master of Accountancy in 2005 from Southern Utah University. She is licensed as a CPA in the state of Nevada, a member of the AICPA and the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants. She started her career at a national accounting firm where she gained vital experience in both tax and audit. She passed her final two CPA exams on maternity leave after the birth of her firstborn son. She moved to a smaller local firm in 2008. This was a hard transition to move from almost a 100 employee firm to just 10. She quickly grew to love the culture and flexibility she gained and has helped grow the local firm to over 30 employees. Melanie started her career wanting to get her license and then be a stay-at-home mom. When she interviewed with the local accounting firm she was up front with the partners and told them she wanted to have more children and as she did she did not want to work busy season hours or full-time. The firm still decided to hire her! In Melanie's mind this would mean that she would have to be a low-level staff while she was raising her children and was comfortable with that outcome. By her third child she had dropped her hours to 24 per week. Growing in her career at a different pace then most in the accounting profession and becoming an Audit Director even while only working part-time has been one of her greatest and most unexpected blessings in her life. Melanie was raised in a small town but has lived in Las Vegas with her family for almost 18 years and has absolutely fallen in love with the city. Melanie was a 2017 AICPA Leadership Academy Graduate. She has served on the Audit Oversight Committee for the City of Las Vegas for four years serving as Vice Chairman for a year and half. She has also served within her church. Melanie loves spending time outdoors with her husband and four children either camping, riding motorcycles, watching sports, or just being in the sun.
