Bogside Acres; The Barn on Bensons Pond
Erin Williams along with her husband Cass Gilmore are the owners and operators of Bogside Acres and Bensons Pond. Benson's Pond farms a total of 50 acres of cranberry bogs with its primary cranberry bog property consisting of 40 acres of cranberry bogs plus supporting upland and woods in Middleboro MA. This property has also been improved with a converted cranberry screenhouse (barn) to a rustic event venue hosting weddings, farm to table dinners, bog tours and other unique farm and dining events. Additionally they operate a small seasonal diversified livestock operation with grassfed and pastured proteins marketed locally and through Bensons Pond events. Erin is the transplant to MA from her upbringing on a small dairy farm in PA. Post-college she found herself working in banking in the boston submarket, meeting her husband Cass through an appraiser. Cass is a 3rd generation cranberry grower who returned to the family farm and cranberry industry after shipping as a merchant marine on fuel vessels and earning his degree in Marine Engineering at Mass Maritime Academy. Together they manage the operations with Cass focusing on the cranberry production and Erin on the livestock and agri-tourism and events at the Barn/bogs.
