RUTH SCHAU, FSA, FCA, EA _Sr. Director Pension Solutions_ _Institutional Division _ _Pacific Life Insurance Company_ EDUCATION Ball State University B.A., Actuarial Science, Minors in Foundations of Business and Spanish BUSINESS HISTORY Ruth joined Pacific Life in 2021 as a Sr. Director Pension Solutions in the Institutional Division. She is responsible for consulting with companies and their advisors to maximize performance of defined contribution and defined benefit plans and provide insight into solutions utilizing Pacific Life's suite of pension risk and DC lifetime income options. Prior to joining Pacific Life, Ms. Schau was a Sr. Director, Practice Leader, Retirement Strategy at TIAA. Prior to TIAA she was a Partner with international consulting firms Aon Hewitt and Mercer. She provided strategic consulting for DB and DC plans including plan design, guiding shifts from DB to DC plans, compliance, and M&A projects. She applies principles from behavioral economics to improve plans for better sponsor and participant experiences and outcomes. She is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries (FCA), and an Enrolled Actuary (EA). She is the Chair of the Society of Actuaries Aging and Retirement Steering Committee, a member of the SOA's DC Initiative and a member of the National Academy of Social Insurance.
