As the Director of Data Analytics at the Department of the Interior Office of Inspector General (DOI OIG) and the Chair of the Data Analytics Working Group for the Council of Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE), Peter Sima-Eichler helps make data accessible to his colleagues at DOI OIG and the CIGIE community. The Data Analytics Unit puts easy-to-use information in the hands of DOI OIG's subject matter experts by building integrated data portals and dashboards, facilitating direct access to Departmental and external data, performing analysis, and assisting teams with statistical sampling and modeling. Before joining DOI, Peter worked at the Department of Commerce Office of Inspector General for eleven years, starting with the organization as a Presidential Management Fellow and becoming the Director of Data Analytics. Peter has a PhD in International Political Economy and a Masters of Public Policy from Georgetown University where he now teaches as an adjunct professor of statistics.
