Dr. Felicia C. Farrar is an experienced senior executive, board member, and advisor energized by business challenges, tackling them with the expertise that comes with 25+ years of combined accounting, teaching, and tax auditing experience. She is repeatedly called on to interpret domestic and international tax laws, resolve intricate accounting issues, and negotiate audit disputes. Felicia has extensive experience leading financial discussions with corporate board members and government oversight representatives regarding highly complex audit and tax-related situations in varying economic environments. Strategically focused, Felicia draws on an in-depth knowledge of corporate financial statements and operations from a unique background in government and consulting environments, including two years with a Big Four firm. In addition, she is a Subject Matter Expert in international accounting, including transfer pricing. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Since 2009, Felicia has taught undergraduate- and graduate-level accounting and tax courses as an Adjunct Professor. She teaches at Alabama A&M University, the University of Houston, and the University of Louisville. In addition, Felicia frequently presents business structures and taxes for the University of Houston SURE Program. She has been published in several trade publications, including Texas State Board of Public Accountancy's Report, Practical Accountant, and Compliance Week. BOARDS Felicia was appointed to the Board of the Texas Society of CPAs (TXCPA) in 2019. Since 2016, she has served as Chair of Diversity & Inclusion, Education, and Tax Committees for TXCPA Houston. She is the Founder/Past Chair of the National Society of Black Certified Public Accountants (NSBCPA) and is the organization's signature CPA Review Program developer. In 2009, Felicia was appointed Chair of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) Center of Legislative Studies, where she also serves as the CPA Exam Bootcamp Director. In addition, Felicia is the Chapter President/National Board Member of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) and the Internal Audit Chair for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is on the Advisory Committee of the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy. CERTIFICATIONS AND DEGREES Felicia is a Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University with a research interest in Internal Revenue Code 199A and Accounting Diversity. Felicia holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Phoenix. She has a Post Graduate Accounting Certificate from Texas Woman's University and her associate degree from Kent State University. In addition, Felicia is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in Texas and Delaware, and a Certified Fraud Examiner. She earned the NACD Directorship Certification® and the AICPA ESG Certificate in 2023.
