Ryan Richards
Ryan currently serves as the Corporate Controller for Zions Bancorporation, where he oversees accounting policy, SEC and bank regulatory reporting, loan accounting, corporate tax, SOX programs, and accounting operations.
Prior to joining Zions, Ryan served in various roles at Truist Financial Corporation and SunTrust, including Director of Investor Relations, Chief Accounting Officer, and Corporate Controller.
Ryan's work in industry was preceded by a two-year secondment with the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision in Basel, Switzerland as well as a three-year stint with the Federal Reserve Board (FRB) in Washington D.C., where he served as a Senior Accounting Policy Analyst.
Prior to joining the FRB, Ryan worked at the International Accounting Standards Board as a project manager on the fair value measurement and financial instrument projects. Ryan's other experience includes advising firm personnel and external clients of KPMG LLP on technical accounting matters, serving in both the Department of Professional Practice (National Office) and the Advisory practice of the Firm.
Ryan also completed a postgraduate rotation with the Financial Accounting Standards Board where his work focused on consolidation and financial instrument accounting.
Ryan is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master of Science degree in finance and a Bachelor in Business Administration in accounting from Texas A&M University.
