JP Shelly joined Crowe in 2008 and has worked exclusively with financial institutions during his tenure, operating out of the Nashville, TN, Dallas, TX and Costa Mesa, CA offices. From 2018-20, he served as a Professional Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency's (OCC) Office of the Chief Accountant in Washington, DC. JP's primary focus at Crowe is serving community banks, credit unions, and other financial services companies by providing external audit services.

JP is a frequent author and speaker on accounting and regulatory issues. JP was a significant contributor to the publication of the 2019 and 2020 editions of the OCC's Bank Accounting Advisory Series (BAAS). He was also a contributor to numerous interagency rules and guidance published by the federal banking agencies (accounting, capital, COVID-19-related guidance) while at the OCC.

J.P. holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Science in Sport Management from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN.
