Amie Thuener is Vice President, Corporate Controller and Principal Accounting Officer for Alphabet. In this role, Amie leads the Controllership organization with global responsibility for accounting and reporting and financial controls covering all aspects of Alphabet's business. Her responsibilities include:

  • SEC and statutory reporting, policy & technical accounting, revenue recognition, and accounting for all businesses, geographies and functions including: mergers & acquisitions, supply chain, sales, leasing, real estate, treasury, etc.;

  • Global financial processes including source to pay, payroll, collections, revenue processing, and fixed assets procure to retire;

  • Strategic development and continuous improvement for financial systems and processes;

  • Sarbanes-Oxley program and global governance leadership for all financial controls and compliance.

In addition, Amie is an Independent Director for Nordstrom, Inc. where she serves on both the Audit and Technology committees. She is also an active member of FEI's Committee on Corporate Reporting where she serves as the FASB committee chair. Amie served as a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council (FASAC) from 2016 to 2020. Amie speaks frequently at nationally recognized accounting and reporting conferences including AICPA SEC conference and the Securities Regulation Institute.

Prior to Google, Amie was Managing Director in PricewaterhouseCooper's Transaction Services Group where she served clients of all sizes and in a variety of industries, providing accounting consulting services. Over the course of her 16 year tenure with PwC, Amie also worked in the audit practice in San Francisco, spent two years at the firm's National office. Amie was a Practice Fellow at the Financial Accounting Standards Board from 2004 to 2006, where she worked on projects such as Revenue Recognition and Fair Value Measurements.

Amie graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Business Economics and Philosophy. She is a CPA in California and a Chartered Global Management Accountant.
