Jason Cuomo
Jason Cuomo is a Senior Vice President in the Corporate Finance Group, rating a diversified portfolio of credits in the telecommunications, media, and technology industry. His coverage includes over $175 billion in high yield and investment grade debt. Mr. Cuomo joined the firm in 2006.
Mr. Cuomo is a thought leader on sector outlooks, financial adequacy, emerging credit trends and accounting topics supported by hundreds of publications. His work has influenced global changes in analytic methodologies, credit policy, and US GAAP. He is also active in corporate projects to develop technology solutions that automate the firm's analytic tools and processes.
Outside Moody's, Mr. Cuomo is frequently quoted by the media and has been a featured guest at investor and industry events where he has been a panelist and key-note speaker. He also actively participates in professional initiatives to advance the quality of financial information for the investment community in collaboration with standards-setters, academics and other influential organizations. He is a sitting member of the Center for Audit Quality's SEC regulations committee which meets regularly with the SEC to discuss current and future standards.
Prior to joining Moody's, Mr. Cuomo was at Ernst & Young advising private equity firms on M&A deals. Earlier, Mr. Cuomo worked on the buy-side at a private equity firm performing corporate development and investment activities for a portfolio of leveraged buy-outs in high-tech defense manufacturing and new ventures in optical communications. Mr. Cuomo started his career as a CPA, earning the distinction working as an auditor for several top-ranked accounting firms including Deloitte and EY.
Mr. Cuomo holds a B.S. degree in Accounting and Finance from Montclair State University.
