Laura is a leader in the firm's employee benefits consulting group with more than 18 years of experience. She is a firm-wide technical leader for reporting and compliance issues related to qualified retirement and health and welfare benefit plans. Her experience includes leading the firm's Forms 5500 and 8955-SSA practice, advising on the design and administration of qualified retirement plans, and identifying and correcting compliance issues and plan operational errors. She regularly leads internal and client training on Form 5500 and Form 5500 Schedule C issues as well as other qualified plan compliance topics. Laura received her B.S. in actuarial science and statistics from Central Michigan University. Laura was also a member of the AICPA's Form 5500 Proposal Task Force, where she worked with audit and tax professionals to develop the AICPA's responses to the DOL's two significant proposed changes to regulations and Form 5500. She was also a key member of Plante Moran's comment letter team.
