Sarah Syme is the VP of Accounting at Justworks, a HR technology company leveling the playing field for small businesses by providing access to payroll, benefits, compliance support, HR tools, and international solutions all in one place.

Sarah leads Justworks’ accounting function, overseeing corporate accounting, financial reporting, financial systems, and tax strategy and operations for the business. In her tenure with the company, Sarah has cultivated and grown the accounting team, supported the execution of an M&A deal, and worked closely with the CFO to ensure financial stability and compliance for the business and the small businesses it serves.

With early career experience as Senior Associate at KPMG, and leading Etsy’s SEC reporting function through their IPO in 2015, Sarah is seasoned at evolving teams through growth milestones. Directly prior to Justworks, Sarah launched an independent accounting and finance consultancy supporting companies including Zipcar, Knotel, and Fluent. As a founder herself, Sarah is deeply passionate and committed to Justworks’ small business customers and helping them grow with confidence.

Sarah currently lives north of Boston with her two little girls and one adventurous cat.
