Geoffrey Pohanka is a third generation auto dealer and Chairman of the Pohanka Automotive Group which was founded by his grandfather in 1919. Today the group consists of 22 dealerships representing 11 different brands, with annual sales of over 40,000 retail vehicles. Mr. Pohanka was the 2023 NADA Chairman representing 16,000 new vehicle dealers with three primary responsibilities....manufacturer relations, Federal Government relations, and dealer training. He was the originator of the NADA's Principles to Guide Auto Retails Future and worked diligently to improve relations with the nations 100 Automotive Trade Associations and with manufacturers. During his term programs were developed to protect consumer data and to prove that the dealer franchise system was the most efficient and cost efficient way to sell vehicles. Mr. Pohanka is a student of automotive electrification and has written numerous articles on the topic.
