Aleksander Poniewierski
Dr. Aleksander Poniewierski has been involved with business and new technologies for over 25 years. He completed computer science studies and received a Ph.D. in economics in 2008. At the beginning of his career, he worked in telecommunications companies, both mobile and stationary, being one of the first in the country to be responsible for the area of information systems security and technological risk. Subsequently, within the structures of Andersen and Ernst & Young, he created technology consulting in the country and the CSE region (Central Eastern Europe). Since 2007, within the structures of EMEIA (Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India), he managed the new technology competence center, and from 2014 he was the leader of the new technology practice, being the global leader of digitalization and new technologies at EY, growing it from scratch to over $1 billion and more than 12,000 consultants working around the world. In 2024, Aleksander retired from EY after 20 years as an equity partner.
During his career, he advised the largest companies in the world, governments, global organizations such as the World Bank or the UN. His specializations include advising on technological-business strategy, designing, implementing, optimizing operational processes, innovating business models, as well as security and data protection, including critical infrastructure systems.
In 2020, he received the title of World IoT Leader of the Year, an award given by the international new technology community.
He is the author of the book "SPEED: No Limits in the Digital Era" (www.speednolimits.com) and many publications in the most prestigious technological and business periodicals, as well as a speaker at numerous conferences in the country and around the world.
He is an active lecturer at prestigious universities around the world, including Stanford University, UT Dallas, SGH, SSoE, Hult Business School, etc.
He is a member of the Advisory Council of the Center for Global Business at the University of Texas in Dallas (UTD).
In addition, he has participated in many postgraduate programs conducted by Harvard Business School, Carnegie Mellon, Stanford, and IMD.
