Frederick J. Kohm, Jr. has over 28 years of experience providing accounting and advisory services to his clients. In his capacity as a National Managing Partner for the Services Industry, Fred coaches, guides, and inspires colleagues while providing strategic direction for the Practice.

As a Forensic Advisory Services Partner, Fred leads large complex engagements involving whistleblower investigations, financial statement fraud, bribery and corruption, and other sensitive matters for his clients. Fred also serves as an independent arbitrator in purchase price disputes, and consultant in corporate compliance matters in various industries including Services, Manufacturing, Life Sciences, Technology & Telecom, and Financial Services, for public, privately held, and not-for-profit organizations.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton in 2011, Fred was a Senior Managing Director for an international Public Accounting firm, where he led the business valuation and forensic advisory services practice in Philadelphia.

While leading large complex investigations, Fred serves clients by leading teams providing services in the US and across the globe. In this capacity, Fred regularly works with his colleagues in the APAC, EMEA and Americas investigating corporate compliance matters, bribery and corruption, and white-collar crime.

Supporting clients through disputes, as both a neutral independent arbitrator, and expert, Fred assists clients in the determination of damages, working capital adjustments and calculations based on agreed contractual terms. His experience includes providing recommendations and decisions on disputes involving Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, as well as the application of accounting guidance in situations involving commercial contract issues. Fred has testified in Federal and State court in both bench and jury trials as well as arbitration and mediation. In addition, Fred has been engaged by and worked at the direction of Federal and State Regulators in various matters.

Professional Qualifications

Fred is dedicated to his profession as a Certified Public Accountant (licensed in Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Florida). For many years Fred has served on Committees for the AICPA and PICPA, including the AICPA Fraud Task Force, Forensic and Transactions Committee, the Financial Services Committee. Fred is a frequent speaker and MC at professional events and academic contributor to business schools at Philadelphia area Universities as well as serving on the Business School Advisory Committee for Alabama A&M University.
