Krista Nash

Commissioner
NJ Cannabis Regulatory Commission

Krista was appointed to the Commission by Governor Phil Murphy upon the recommendation of former Senate President Steve Sweeney.

Prior to her appointment to the Commission, Krista served as the Director of a national, non-profit organization where she worked to meet the unique needs of individuals exiting the criminal justice system with co-occurring disorders.

Krista has devoted her professional career to social justice initiatives - particularly working with justice-involved individuals who struggled with homelessness, substance use and mental health disorders.

She worked with the Goldring Reentry Initiative through the University of Pennsylvania. In that position she helped individuals incarcerated in the Philadelphia Prison System transition safely to the community. Krista has also worked with Oaks Integrated Care and Rutgers University’s Transitions for Youth Program mentoring historically underserved adolescents.

Krista was recognized by the Community Planning and Advocacy Council as an outstanding member of the community who possesses the ingenuity, creativity, and passion it takes to rally the business community and promote South Jersey as the best place to work, live and raise a family.

She received a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania - both in Social Work.

Krista was born and raised in Ocean City, New Jersey and currently resides on a farm in Winslow Township with her husband, Jeff. They have three adult children.
