Rena Wamsley is Fannie Mae’s Director of Privacy and leads Fannie Mae’s confidential information and privacy program.  Rena joined Fannie Mae in 2009 and has been a member of the Privacy Office during the entirety of her tenure.  As a Privacy and Cybersecurity subject matter expert, Rena leads a dynamic team to drive positive results with innovation in process improvement, technical control enhancement and risk assessment.  Rena is experienced in event management under state breach notification requirements and state privacy law rights for personal information request response. Most recently, Rena is engaged in defining Artificial Intelligence and Model Language requirements as it relates to Privacy governance and risk assessment activities.

Previously, Rena provided technology and security risk services as a Manager at Ernst & Young LLP and has a BS in Management Information System, Management and Marketing from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.

Rena holds her Certified Information Systems Auditor and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control certifications from the Information Systems Audit and Control Association and Certified Information Privacy Professional certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.  Rena is also a member of the Executive Women’s Forum where she is active in their mentorship program.
