Dr. Sridhar Ramamoorti, ACA, CPA/CITP/CFF/CGMA, CIA, CFE, CFSA, CGAP, CGFM, CRMA, CRP, CVA, MAFF, is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the University of Dayton, Ohio. Previously, he was an Associate Professor of Accounting and a Director of the Corporate Governance Center, Michael J. Coles College of Business, Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia. 

Dr. Ramamoorti has a unique, blended academic-practitioner background with over 35 years of experience in academia, auditing, and consulting. After finishing his Ph.D. (quantitative psychology) from The Ohio State University, he initially served on the accountancy faculty of the University of Illinois. Subsequently, he was a principal with Andersen Worldwide’s Professional Standards Group, National SOX Advisor for EY, and corporate governance partner with Grant Thornton, all in Chicago, Illinois. He briefly led the governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) professional services practice of Infogix, Inc. in Naperville, Illinois, prior to re-entering academia. 

Dr. Ramamoorti was a member of the authoring/development teams of the 2009 COSO Guidance on Monitoring Internal Control Systems, 2010 ISACA guidance on Monitoring Internal Control Systems and IT, The Audit Committee Handbook (5th ed., Wiley, 2010), Internal Auditing: Assurance and Advisory Services (IIA, 2022, 5th ed), and A.B.C.’s of Behavioral Forensics (Wiley, 2013) on the psychology of fraud that has been presented to the FBI Academy, the World Bank and IMF, Freddie Mac, the PCAOB, and at several Conferences. He originated the COSO/Deloitte thought leadership monograph on “Blockchain and Internal Control: The COSO Perspective.” 

Dr. Ramamoorti has published over 60 research papers and professional articles, coauthored 15 books and monographs, and serves on numerous editorial boards. His work has appeared in Management Science, Journal of Management Accounting Research, Issues in Accounting Education, Journal of Information Systems, The CPA Journal, Internal Auditor, and Strategic Finance, among others. He has received awards for his research and teaching excellence. Active in the profession, he is a member of all five sponsoring organizations of COSO and has served as a Trustee for the IIA and FEI Research Foundations. He is a former member of the Standing Advisory Group of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) and incoming President of the AAA Forensic Accounting Section. During his sabbatical in Fall 2024 he was a Faculty Research Fellow with Financial Executives International (FEI) and recently became a member of the New York State Society of CPAs. Named IAAER Global Outreach Coordinator and Liaison for the Middle East and Asia, Dr. Ramamoorti has been a speaker in 16 countries.
