
Halie Creps
Halie is an audit partner in KPMG's Department of Professional Practice (DPP) in New York, NY, focusing on audit issues related to standard-setting, emerging areas of assurance, and newly issued regulatory and accounting guidance. Her responsibilities also include developing materials on current audit and attestation issues, presenting on technical audit and accounting matters, and delivering training to accounting professionals. She has advised on task forces for various auditing associations, providing insight on topics such as fraud, going concern, a firm’s system of quality management, and attestation. She is actively involved in audit and attestation standard-setting as a member of the AICPA’s Auditing Standards Board (ASB) from June 2022 to May 2025 and as the Chair of the ASB beginning at the end of May 2025.
As a FASB Practice Fellow from July 2015 through June 2017, Halie served as a project lead on accounting standard setting projects. She primarily focused on issues concerning the accounting for goodwill and intangible assets, and the financial statement disclosure framework. She also assisted practitioners, preparers, and others with technical accounting inquiries.
While working in KPMG's Norfolk, VA office, Halie provided professional audit services, primarily in the manufacturing industry, to small and middle market companies under AICPA standards, and to several public companies in accordance with PCAOB requirements. Her audit experience ranges from SEC filings, carve-out financial statements, A-133 compliance audits and pension plan audits for domestic clients to the coordination of global audit efforts for both private and public companies.
