
Diane Sklar
Diane Sklar is a high performing, Big 4” experienced, audit, consulting and training professional with over 30+ years of diversified client experience. Her expertise is in evaluating and monitoring business, IT and operational risks, controls and governance practices.
Diane has led her own consulting company Sklar Advisors LLC for the last 10 years. She works as a subject matter expert assisting other professional services organizations and internal audit groups identify risks and controls within their client engagements as well as develop the approach for assessing them. She has extensive experience in training, organizing and leading functional teams, assessing risk, process and information flows, tracking results, developing recommendations and implementing changes that benefit business performance.
Prior to building her own firm, Diane was a Director in the PwC Risk Assurance practice in NY Metro. Her role as a leader in this practice was to focus on risk management, compliance and systems related assessments on PwC audit and consulting engagements. Her responsibilities included managing the relationship with the CIO and Internal Audit as well as working with the CEO and CFO to respond to client needs, providing thought leadership and presenting observations and recommendations to senior executives and Audit Committees. Diane led the PwC private company practice in the NY metro region due to her ability to apply her experience from working with public companies to tailor processes and controls for private organizations.
In addition to her consulting work, Diane is an Adjunct Professor at Sacred Heart University’s Welch School of Business where she teaches courses in Operations Management and Supply Chain Management, Information Systems and Accounting Information Systems. Diane received her MBA in Information Systems from Pace University in New York and her BBA in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. She has also authored sections of the Law Firm Accounting and Financial Management and the Handbook of EDP Auditing, written by PwC and published by Warren, Gorham & Lamont.
