Jeff is the managing member of Fortreum Associates, LLC, an IT-audit and cybersecurity-focused CPA firm, where he leads all SOC engagements. With over two decades of experience, Jeff brings real-world practitioner expertise into every teaching opportunity, translating complex SOC concepts into practical, actionable guidance for practitioners at all levels.

His consulting work spans practice development, peer review preparation, control development, workpaper reviews, and framework mapping. Jeff is also a SOC peer review specialist, a SOC enhanced oversight specialist, and NASBA CPE sponsor, providing CPE training to various organizations.

Jeff actively contributes to the AICPA through the SOC 2 working group, developing CPE training, teaching SOC school, contributing to the CITP body of knowledge and exam, and chairing the TECH+ track for the ENGAGE conference. He holds a BBA in Accounting from Loyola Maryland and an MS in Information Assurance from UMUC.

In his free time, Jeff plays golf and studies Uechi-Ryu (Okinawan) Karate, obtaining the rank of Yondan (4th degree black belt).
