Julie Killian
Julie has more than 30 years of public accounting experience serving privately held manufacturing, distribution, third-party logistics, and professional service firm clients. She has worked extensively with family, individual, and private equity-owned entrepreneurial businesses in the U.S. and internationally. Julie also worked as a controller in a small business during her career giving her a unique perspective on the challenges businesses face preparing for their audits while continuing to manage their day-to-day responsibilities.
Presently, Julie spends most of her time on firm quality control and technical matters. She is part of the team that implemented the new QM standards and plays a key role in guiding her firm on matters related to professional standards. In addition, she leads some financial statement audit and review engagements, and audits of private company employee benefit plans. She provides technical research and implementation guidance on complex accounting standards under various accounting frameworks, including U.S. GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Dedicated to her continuing education, Julie obtained her IFRS Certificate from the AICPA and has participated in the PKF North America Executive Leadership Training. Julie is an active member of the AICPA and is the Past Chairperson of the Private Companies Practice Section Technical Issues Committee.
Julie is also a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants where she is the Chair of the Audit Committee, and a member of the Employee Benefit Plan Task Force.
Julie obtained her accounting degree from Michigan State University.
