Jeanette Payne
Jeanette Payne began her career unconventionally by working for the prosecutor’s office as an Economic Crime Investigator. As a sworn law enforcement officer, she investigated and assisted with the prosecution of numerous embezzlements, fraud schemes, identity thefts, Ponzis, and even homicides.
Jeanette scored the highest score in the state of Florida on the May 2003 sitting of the CPA exam and continued her education with several credentials including Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified Insurance Counselor. She also teaches as an adjunct professor at Florida Southern College in Lakeland in the accounting program.
After leaving the State, she worked briefly in public accounting and management consulting before settling in at AssuredPartners, a venture capital funded insurance brokerage founded in 2011. AssuredPartners topped $2 billion in revenue with over 200 locations and completing more than 500 acquisitions in 14 short years. Jeanette founded their Internal Audit Department and oversaw its growth for 6 years before joining the Finance Transformation project to implement an ERP. She then took over direction of a shared services division responsible for reporting for the organization until its acquisition by Gallagher (top 3 brokerage in the US) in 2025.
Jeanette is transitioning to Gallagher’s Data Analytics and Science team to further expand on her experience with reporting and governance.
