Paul Munter currently serves as the Deputy Chief Accountant for International Activities in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the SEC. As Deputy Chief Accountant, Mr. Munter leads the office's activities on international matters, which includes working closely with various international organizations including IOSCO, IASB, IAASB, and the Monitoring Group among others.

Previously, he was a national office partner with a U.S. member firm with responsibility for directing the firm’s international accounting and auditing activities and serving on the global network’s IFRS policy panel. He earned his B.S. and M.S. in accounting from Fresno State University and his PhD in accounting from the University of Colorado. He is a CPA in Colorado, Florida and New York.
