Marie Stiegel is a principal in Plante Moran's public sector practice, where she serves as technical leader and provides audit and single audit services to state and local governments, including cities, counties, state agencies, and special-purpose governments. In her role, Marie advises engagement teams and clients on new and proposed accounting and auditing guidance and helps resolve complex technical issues affecting governmental entities. She is a member of the AICPA State and Local Government Expert Panel, the AICPA Professional Ethics Enforcement Subcommittee, and chairs the Michigan Government Finance Officers Association Standards Committee. Marie frequently speaks at professional conferences and firm trainings on governmental accounting and auditing topics and holds both a B.A. and M.S. in accounting from Michigan State University.
