Caleb Deans
Caleb Deans has worked at the Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts (DOAA) for twelve years, where he currently serves as a Senior Manager. He is responsible for leading the department's audit transformation efforts, which are reshaping the way DOAA performs financial audits. As part of this initiative, Caleb oversees the modernization of audit methodology, shifting processes away from manual work and toward a more data‑driven, risk‑based approach. These efforts leverage artificial intelligence, data analytics, and automation to improve audit quality, consistency, and efficiency. The initiative also aims to enable proactive, insight‑driven risk assessment and substantive testing, while enhancing the client experience through streamlined processes and more meaningful insights.
Caleb's leadership philosophy is grounded in servant leadership. He prioritizes the well‑being and professional growth of the people around him, striving to create an environment where teams feel supported, valued, and equipped to succeed. His passion for technology modernization and simplifying work processes is driven not only by a desire for efficiency, but by a commitment to improving the day‑to‑day experience of the colleagues he serves.
Prior to his current role, Caleb managed and directed financial audit engagements. He worked closely with teams on some of the department's most complex audits and was responsible for developing and approving work plans, as well as performing quality control reviews of working papers. Caleb has been at the forefront of changes to DOAA's audit processes even before taking on his current role within audit transformation.
Caleb holds a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Georgia and is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Government Financial Manager.
