A former Microsoft engineer who spent 13 years at the company – including time on the Excel team and as a founding engineer on the technology that became Power BI – Rob now leads a firm that helps business leaders cut through the hype and actually get started with AI – with clarity instead of jargon, and confidence instead of blind trust. 

 

Rob is the author of four books, including the #1-selling book on Power BI and the forthcoming *Fair Game: Bringing AI Into Reach for All Business Thinkers* (August 2026). He hosts the weekly podcast *Raw Data with Rob Collie*, with over 210 episodes covering AI and data technology for business leaders.

Rob is a practitioner who has spent three decades translating complex technology into business results. He also builds custom AI for clients every day. He holds a degree in Computer Science, Philosophy, and Mathematics from Vanderbilt University.
