Mia Thomas
Mia A. Thomas, CPA, CGMA, is a Senior Solutions Engineer with the AICPA-CIMA, where she develops and proposes technical, regulatory and behavioral ethics, and power skills learning solutions for B2B clients. She also serves as the NASBA representative for BLI a division of the AICPA, conducting technical reviews and supporting instructional design. She is an instructor for ethics and facilitator for the Rise2040 initiative.
With over 30 years of experience in public accounting, Mia previously served as Senior Director of Learning for the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) and prior to that role, was a principal at a Top 10 national CPA firm and owner of local and regional public accounting firms. Her expertise spans tax, auditing, consulting, CFO services, strategic planning, and nonprofit advisory services.
A recognized leader in the profession, Mia has held numerous leadership roles within the AICPA as Council Member and FICPA as Former Chair of the Board, Foundation President and PAC-Central Chair. In 2012, she was named one of the “25 Most Powerful Women in Accounting” by CPA Practice Advisor. She remains actively involved in professional, educational, and community service initiatives throughout Florida and internationally.
